Don't be a philophobic

Most of us know what it means to hold back. Most of us know what it is like to be afraid of love, or commitment to another. And why shouldn't we be? Something as big and powerful as love IS a scary thing. So many possibilities and what ifs, chance of heartache and chance of infatuation... love knows no boundaries... but then why do we??

If you've ever "had your guard up" or "been afraid to let go of past failures" or been "scared to fall in love" your fears are rational. No one wants to be hurt, and so holding back seems only natural as a defense mechanism—a way to protect yourself above all else.

Now that you know you're justified in feeling as such... it's time to let go of that worry and drop that guard. If there's one thing you should remember it's you can never lose by loving. It's a pure promise that what you gain is so much more. Whether it's a life lesson, or a new someone special. When you get too wrapped up in your fears you end up ironically getting more hindered and hurt by yourself than by anyone else. Learn to breath easy and love fully, and if someone is stupid enough to hurt you... they lose. They lose out on you.
